Back To The Future – Theatrical Production at Academy of Music

Transporting viewers straight back to the 1900s, precisely in the 50s and 80s, Back To The Future The Musical shares the thrilling storyline from the late 1985 movie and was also adapted for the stage by the film’s originators, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. The high-spirited and vividly bright musical tells the tale of Marty McFly, who accidentally discovers time travel.

An unusual hazard that occurs during their meeting causes Marty McFly to drive the DeLorean, shocking him and moving him away in time to 1955. Initially in awe of the town and people he doesn't know, Marty eventually realizes that to return to the right place and time, he should also correct history, and the family and friends who don't know him, back to what actually happened.

Heavily inspired by the film it was based on, each set design of Back To The Future is represented as respect and acknowledgment of the sets from the movie, encompassing Doc's lab, the McFly's house, Hill Valley High School, and several sets in the Hill Valley community. Both the stage and costume design also stay true to the decades they represent. Back To The Future The Musical's transfer to the West End platform allowed it to showcase one of the unrivaled franchises that has been produced, while applying tweaks and innovations only feasible on a theater stage.
