For those who like the stories that portray historical events in a contemporary way, Academy Of Music has a fresh new musical. The Broadway play Six — The Musical offers awesome music and an original take on the wives of Henry VIII. The audience witnesses the power of women with an incredible musical with the latest pop music.
loosely based on the many marriages of King Henry VIII, Six tells the story of the King's six brides. Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six presents the tale as a singing contest in which each bride must tell their tales to the audience. The audience watches as each of the ladies regains their true identity.
The show starts as each of the ladies reveals themselves through a song. Only the wife who was hurt the most can become the band's lead singer. Despite fighting among themselves, the wives finally realize they can no longer let this man define them. And by the conclusion they sing together as a cohesive band.
The play first opened in 2017, but Academy Of Music now presents the touring production. Critics love the musical's innovation and dynamic advocacy. Fans love the epic music, the message, and the pride that the play evokes.

Six is that theatrical adventure you always needed, but you had not the faintest hint you wanted! If we're honest, no one could have anticipated being a devoted supporter of a performance that satirizes the lives of the wives of Henry VIII and portrays them performing a musical! The context that you're going to require to “get” this production is in your old textbooks. That may lead to an intriguing experience even before you arrive at the theater because it could be a good idea to refresh your memory of what happened with each of Henry's wives before you head to Academy Of Music on Tuesday 30th September 2025. That way, you'll appreciate all of the inside jokes and the quips, notably between Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn.
History teachers worldwide can take notes from the playwrights of this one! It's challenging to get people interested in a history course. When Henry VIII is involved, though, the narrative includes gossip, dramatic ends, and a ton of affairs, so it makes it easier that people naturally are drawn to these things. The way it's delivered through all of these songs is going to have you on your feet, laughing, swaying, doing exactly that you'd hope to experience at a musical! By the way, it's also a lot less formal than your typical musical experience, so that idea of being on your feet won't be too frowned upon. Think of it like the Mamma Mia energy!
Some of the greatest spots inside any theater for a stage show are always toward the heart of the theater. That's the core, however you view it, which means in the central area and at least a couple of rows away from the stage. At a show like this, it might be a good idea to seek out seats at Academy Of Music with a little extra legroom. You’ll appreciate it!
