History can be enthralling when you watch it with the award-winning Broadway musical, "Six." You don’t have to be a history expert to enjoy "Six," though. Its message of girl power, brought home through original music, makes attending this musical an heart-pounding occasion.
The original Broadway show production of "Six — The Musical" received 2 Tony awards, including for Best Score. After making its premiere on London's West End and appearing on Broadway, you now have the opportunity to watch "Six — The Musical" in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The touring production of "Six — The Musical" will include the breathtaking score to Academy Of Music on Sunday 5th October 2025.
"Six" started as a theatrical show by the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society in 2017 in the United Kingdom. The positive reviews of those showings created an opportunity for a professional production that crisscrossed the United Kingdom in 2018.
"Six" made its official run on London’s West End in 2019. It had a successful run until COVID-19 disrupted performances for most of 2020.
The production persevered to draw a growing legion of fans and was went on a series of tours across the world. It finally moved to New York City, where it was the first new musical to open on Broadway after Covid lockdowns.
It continues to tour across the U.S.A. and the world today. An interesting twist to the production of "Six — The Musical" was that Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss used actual musical icons to model the characters. They took inspiration from celebrities like Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Celine Dion, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and Alicia Keys for the character creation.

Six is that stage sensation you always needed, but you had no idea you wanted! If we're truthful, no one could have predicted being a huge enthusiast of a performance that parodies the lives of the wives of Henry VIII and envisions them rocking a musical! The context that you're going to need to “get” this production is in your school lessons. That might make an engaging experience even before you step into the theater because it would be a smart idea to revisit what happened with each of Henry's wives before you make it out to Academy Of Music on Sunday 5th October 2025. That way, you'll get all of the inside jokes and the quips, especially between Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn.
History teachers everywhere can take notes from the playwrights of this one! It's tough to get people engaged in a history course. When Henry VIII is involved, though, the narrative includes scandal, executions, and a ton of affairs, so it makes it easier that people tend to love these things. The way it's delivered through all of these musical numbers is going to have you standing up, laughing, grooving, doing exactly that you'd like to be doing at a musical! By the way, it's also a lot less formal than your standard musical experience, so that idea of being on your feet won't be too frowned upon. Imagine it as the Mamma Mia vibe!
Some of the most ideal spots inside any theater for a stage show are always toward the center of the theater. That's the middle, no matter how you slice it, which means in the central area and at least a couple of rows away from the stage. At a show like this, it might be a good idea to find seats at Academy Of Music with a bit more legroom. You’ll appreciate it!
